28 Weeks

Into the 3rd trimester!

I need to work on my posture!

Baby is a little over 28 weeks now, which means only 12 weeks to go!! Not sure where the time has gone but it has gone quickly! After the baby showers back in MN we have lots of great stuff for baby A but now we need to get our place ready(and ourselves :) ) Brent will be doing a fair amount of travel over the next month so I will have lots of time to get things put away!

At my most recent appt baby was measuring right on, except its legs.  The legs are a week ahead of the rest of the body! All in all the baby looked good.  He/She is weighing a little over 2 pounds and is moving like crazy.  Brent can now feel and see baby moving, which is awesome!

With being in MN we were not good about taking weekly pictures so the last one I have is from 23 weeks.

Baby Shower #2

The weekend after my first baby shower(and Easter) was a busy one! On Friday night I hosted a 30th Birthday party for Brent(I will talk about this in another post).  That Saturday Brent's family put together a shower for me and baby.  Then on Sunday we had Violet's baptism, whew we were busy!

My baby shower was held at my sister in law Julie's house with Brent's family(sister, sister in laws, nieces, Aunt and Mom) and my mom all attending.  

We played a super fun multi tasking game and I am disappointed to say Brent was faster than me!

It was such a fun day and I am so thankful to all the Anderson's for coming and for everything!

Baby Shower #1

Brent and I just got back from our last trip to the US as a family of 2! So crazy!! This trip was a whirlwind and have left us both wondering if we were even home!  We had quite a few events while we were home so I will start in the beginning and break everything up into a few posts.

The first weekend I got home my sister and sister in law hosted a baby shower for me for all of my family.  They had it at a local coffee shop and had a, She's going to Pop theme.  Thankfully my belly cooperated and started "popping" out a few days before the shower

The shower was so much fun and we feel so blessed that so many people were able to come on celebrate!

Wedding Time!

This weekend before I flew to MN Brent and I attended our first wedding in Europe.  Something we never thought we would do here! Our friends Sam and Dan get married at a castle in Zeist, which is about 10 minutes east of Utrecht.  They are both from the UK, (she is also part Dutch) so there was a great mix of traditions.  For the dance the had what is called a Scottish Ceilidh(pronounced like Kaylee) Dance.  There was a band and a caller who would show and instruct all of the steps.  The dance floor was always full!

29...

Yesterday was my 29th birthday.  I am normally all about my birthday-like I start counting down as soon as my sister Missy's birthday(February 13th) is over.  This year was different.  I think I am just so excited for Brent's 30th(March 25th) and for July 13th :) that my birthday just crept up on me.  Brent went all out to make sure I had a memorable day.

Brent had to get up extra early for work and I of course stayed asleep.  When I woke up this was next to our bed

All of my favorites for a breakfast in bed, accompanied by a sweet note.  I was impressed, he even put the yogurt and fruit in a bowl filled with ice so they wouldn't go bad. 

I spent the morning doing some shopping and treated myself to lunch and hot chocolate at our favorite bagel place

 The middle cup holds the chocolate chips and you add it to the milk yourself.  I can make it as chocolaty as I want :) (not sure if chocolaty isn't a word but oh well!)

Brent came home from work at around 2 and we spent the afternoon together.  It was really nice here yesterday so we took advantage of it and went on a walk and hung out in the park

 Then he cooked me dinner :)

For dinner he marinated steak for steak fondue-it was delicious and hit the spot!

Dessert-clementines and chocolates.  I'm not 100% what the chocolates were, but they were amazing!!  It is taking all of my willpower not to go in the fridge where the chocolates are and eat them!!

Thank You Brent for an amazing 29th Birthday!!  Thank you to everyone who e-mailed or sent me birthday messages! It all made my day extra special!

22 Weeks

Baby is just over 22 weeks! He/She is the size of a spaghetti squash and weighing in at just over 1 pound! Baby's eyes have formed but the irises are still without color.  As you can see my belly is growing and I am starting to get the comments from people(mostly people I have just met) about how big and/or too small I am.  Can't please everyone :) 

Brent and I went out yesterday to do some research on strollers and I have to say, he looks pretty good pushing a stroller

But his baby holding skills do need some work before July

How Have I Never Noticed This???

Brent and I have been living in Utrecht for almost a year.  In the same apartment.  Yesterday while walking home from the city center I noticed this

Yep, the street is Kemper Street.  I have been walking and/or biking past this street almost daily since March. What is even worse, is the place where we always got our wine before I was pregnant is on this street...and I never noticed the street name!  

So much for being the observant person I thought I was :)
