38 Weeks

We are getting excited over here!! Less than 2 weeks until baby's due date!

Here is my shot from 10 weeks ago at 28 weeks
The shirt is a lot shorter on me now than it was then!

I am still feeling pretty good! Sleeping is definitely a challenge but I am just getting used to that.  My sciatic is acting up again and my midwife told me the only fix is to have the baby...so lets go baby A!!

In prepping for baby to come I decided to start practicing getting my carrier wrapped correctly.

Thankfully we have a monkey that subbed in for baby! Let me tell you it is hard to get the wrap right with a big belly!

My box of "goodies" from our insurance company.  As most of you know we are provided with a Kraamzorg(maternity nurse) in our home for 4-6 hours a day for 5 days after we get home from the hospital.  Because of this we get all of the items that they could possibly need while they are here checking on baby and I.  Speaking of the Kraamzorg, we had our agency visit this past week and they definitely do more that just check the 2 of us.  Apparently, when they come in the morning they will make breakfast if needed, lightly clean the house, do our laundry and prepare dinner so all we will have to do is put it in the oven.  I think I am going to like this Kraamzorg thing!

36 Weeks

We're getting close!!!

That is one big belly!

Not a whole lot is new for baby development wise.  Right now he/she is just growing.  I am feeling a little bit of relief in the rib area which must mean baby is slowly dropping.  As of this coming Saturday I will be 37 weeks which is considered Full term.  Obviously we want baby to stay in as long as necessary but it is nice to be at a point where he/she is developed and could be born safely if needed.  We installed the car seat this week so whenever baby is ready to come we are ready!

It has been pretty warm here the past few days(90's) and we don't have AC.  Needless to say I have been wanting a cold body of water to submerge myself in.  If only the canals were cleaner :) Other than that I'm still feeling pretty good.  I definitely get tired a lot easier from things than I did a week ago but I am trying to stay active and just know what my limits are.

Here is my picture from last week, belly is much bigger this week!

Have a good Wednesday!

iPhone Pics

What's been going on lately via my iPhone

My treats that Brent brought me back from Italy. Yes, the orange one is opened.  No, I couldn't wait to try it until after I took the picture

On our way to Den Haag we saw this man driving with his old pipe in his old Volkswagen.  It seemed picture worthy

Best feeling is having my feet in the sand on a warm day

The only mustache Brent will ever have :)

This has been a regular occurrence, Italian lemon cake flavor with Italian chocolate cookie flavor...Amazing! Come visit  I will buy you one :)

Picnic dinner in the park.  The weather has been wonderful here so there have been many lunches and dinners in the park

Tried getting a shadow shot of the belly- didn't work the best!

The crib is up!! For right now it is in our room since my mom is visiting shortly after baby is born and I don't think she wants a newborn in the room with her :) (the beautiful quilt was made for baby by my sister in law Katie)

34 Weeks

Baby A is just over 34 weeks!

and just for fun here was me 11 weeks ago at 23 weeks
My how I have grown!!

He is or she is compared to a cantaloupe this week and weighs somewhere between 4 and 4 3/4 pounds.  Baby will be packing on the fat layers the next few weeks as he or she prepares for the outside world!
I am still feeling good.  Things are definitely getting a little harder to do than they were before but I can't complain too much.  Not sleeping a ton, but I guess I should get used to that :)

We haven't picked up too many new baby things lately, but our friends just got back from a long holiday in Australia and brought Baby A a cute souvenir back

It fits in perfect with the travel stuff in baby's room!

I've also been working on getting baby's things organized and finding a place for everything.  Since there is no room for a dresser Ikea came to the rescue with an organizer for the closet
As you can see we have been taking advantage of the sales on diapers :)

Less than 6 weeks to go!

Date Day Continued

After we left the Madurodam, we headed to Scheveningen Beach in Den Haag.  We had lunch at a little place along the beach and enjoyed the sun.

After lunch we went to the Sea Life Aquarium.  I think we were spoiled by our last aquarium experience in Portugal because we left pretty disappointed.  I kept asking Brent if we missed a section because I couldn't believe how small it was!

After the aquarium we went for a nice walk on the beach.  It felt so good to put our toes in the sand! We both agree that we need to take advantage of being 40 minutes from the ocean more!

Walking down to the beach

Brent snapped some pics while I was taking a little break and enjoying the view

Walking on the boardwalk

Panoramic shot

We had a really great day and know that these kind of days with just the two of us are numbered.  We are so excited about our little one joining our family but we are definitely making the most of these last few weeks before Baby A makes his or her arrival!

Date Day

On Friday Brent decided to take the day off for the two of us to have a date day(I called it that not him :))   The weather cooperated(for once!!) and we had a really nice day!
We started the day with my favorite decaf latte

Sometimes you just need a little bit of home for the drive :)

We headed to Den Haag to go to the Madurodam.  It is a small park with different cities of Holland recreated miniature sized.
Mini Winkel von Sinkel- An old department store along the canal in Utrecht

The Dam tower and my big belly!  This one would have been a lot easier to climb than the full size one we did last year

Dam Square in Amsterdam- the detail is amazing

Smelling the tulip box

They had a recreation of a dutch clog factory and if you put a euro in a mini pair of clogs would come out of the factory.  I thought they would be perfect for Baby A's room :)

Amsterdam

They even had a mini red light district, complete with gawkers!

We had a great time experiencing this Dutch tradition and enjoyed the people watching just as much!

I'll recap the rest of the day in another post tomorrow.

Have a good weekend!
