Rotterdam

Last Sunday Brent and I decided to head to Rotterdam.  It was a beautiful day and we have only been to Rotterdam once, for like an hour.  It was really interesting seeing the city.  It is unlike any other city in the Netherlands because of the bombs that destroyed it when the German army invaded in WW2.  We decided that we would do a tour of the port when we got there.  As of right now the port is the 3rd largest in the world(behind Shanghai and Singapore) but they are in the process of adding more land and increasing the size of the port.

The Erasmus bridge

 Old boat along the tour

The building of a new ship

 Such a Dutch scene

They are so many of these containers it was crazy!

The Hotel New York.  They is where the line from Rotterdam to New York used to depart from.  Many immigrants left the Netherlands for the US from this spot.

Have a good week!

Baby Shower #3

The last weekend we were home 4 of my girlfriends threw my a baby shower with my friends. It was so great to see friends and had such a fun time chatting!

It was so fun to see all of the pink and blue decor! When everyone came in they picked a sticker guessing what the gender would be, most people picked girl.  The game we played was reading old wives tales.  Based on my symptoms 50% of the questions said we are having a boy and 50% said we are having a girl...really conclusive :)

All of the food was delicious. Of course I made sure to have both a pink and a blue cake pop-just to keep it fair you know :)

My lovely hosts-Andrea, Jenna, Chelsey and Stephanie So lucky to have all of these ladies as friends!!
Both Andrea and Stephanie each had a little boy 3 weeks before the shower don't they look amazing!!!

Thank you ladies again for a wonderful shower!

28 Weeks

Into the 3rd trimester!
I need to work on my posture!

Baby is a little over 28 weeks now, which means only 12 weeks to go!! Not sure where the time has gone but it has gone quickly! After the baby showers back in MN we have lots of great stuff for baby A but now we need to get our place ready(and ourselves :) ) Brent will be doing a fair amount of travel over the next month so I will have lots of time to get things put away!

At my most recent appt baby was measuring right on, except its legs.  The legs are a week ahead of the rest of the body! All in all the baby looked good.  He/She is weighing a little over 2 pounds and is moving like crazy.  Brent can now feel and see baby moving, which is awesome!

With being in MN we were not good about taking weekly pictures so the last one I have is from 23 weeks.
Lots of change in those 5 weeks!

Baby Shower #2

The weekend after my first baby shower(and Easter) was a busy one! On Friday night I hosted a 30th Birthday party for Brent(I will talk about this in another post).  That Saturday Brent's family put together a shower for me and baby.  Then on Sunday we had Violet's baptism, whew we were busy!

My baby shower was held at my sister in law Julie's house with Brent's family(sister, sister in laws, nieces, Aunt and Mom) and my mom all attending.
We played a super fun multi tasking game and I am disappointed to say Brent was faster than me!

Hanging clothes while holding a baby and talking on the phone

I like to think my form was better than his :)

Soon there will be one more person in these pictures!

So Brent wanted to take an awkward maternity photo, I could not keep a straight face but the picture is still plenty awkward

It was such a fun day and I am so thankful to all the Anderson's for coming and for everything!

Have a good weekend!

Baby Shower #1

Brent and I just got back from our last trip to the US as a family of 2! So crazy!! This trip was a whirlwind and have left us both wondering if we were even home!  We had quite a few events while we were home so I will start in the beginning and break everything up into a few posts.

The first weekend I got home my sister and sister in law hosted a baby shower for me for all of my family.  They had it at a local coffee shop and had a, She's going to Pop theme.  Thankfully my belly cooperated and started "popping" out a few days before the shower

The "Pop" table

Everyone got to take home some things that pop!

I definitely ate more than 1 of these!

Everyone filled out their wishes for Baby A.  It was so sweet!

Violet wanted no part of this picture

Part of the gift from my mom, drawings that I did in the 7th grade

The shower was so much fun and we feel so blessed that so many people were able to come on celebrate!

I'll be back in a few days with another post and more baby showers :)

Have a good day!

Wedding Time!

This weekend before I flew to MN Brent and I attended our first wedding in Europe.  Something we never thought we would do here! Our friends Sam and Dan get married at a castle in Zeist, which is about 10 minutes east of Utrecht.  They are both from the UK, (she is also part Dutch) so there was a great mix of traditions.  For the dance the had what is called a Scottish Ceilidh(pronounced like Kaylee) Dance.  There was a band and a caller who would show and instruct all of the steps.  The dance floor was always full!

Saying their vows

The top tier of the wedding cake.  Both Sam and Dan are scientists such a cute idea!
