Vienna

The morning after I ran my half marathon Elliot and I had an early morning flight to Vienna. My good friend Noelle was visiting her parents and so we decided on a short trip to see them all. Noelle and her husband have an almost 2 year who Elliot loved running around with. It was such a nice change for our travels to have a little buddy for E. We got settled into our hotel and quickly got public transport figured out and headed into the city center. We had some lunch, walked around, E took a nap and headed back to our hotel around dinner time. There were quite a few traditional Austrian restaurants right near our hotel which was great.

E loved his worst and fries
On Tuesday we met up with Noelle and her family right away in the morning and let the boys play at her parents house. We headed into the city for lunch and then made our way over to the Vienna zoo. It is the oldest zoo in the world and was a great time. Lots of animals and a great environment. It was pretty cool to see Pandas and a few Giraffe up close. The zoo in located on the Schonbrunn Palace. We only got to see the outside of the palace and it was unreal. What's crazier is that the palace was only used as a summer residence.

I'll have another post coming with the rest of our trip soon!

Favorites 10-24(a day late!)

This week has been a whirlwind! Elliot and I were in Vienna until Thursday(more on that later) so the week just flew by. Here are some favorites from the week.

1. I ran my half marathon on Sunday. It wasn't my greatest race due to a bit of an injury but I finished and in the end that is all that matters.
This years medal
2. Elliot had a lot of new treats in Vienna. Here he is loving his first chocolate chip cookie

3. Yesterday, two of my girlfriends and I had a girls days with in home massages. We all went over to my friend Melissa's house and the masseuse came there. We all took turns watching the kiddos while the other ones got a massage. It was a nice way to end a crazy week.

4. Elliot spent a good amount of time at the airport like this. Watching all the excitement happen outside :)

Have a good weekend!

Elliot's 1 year pictures

I realized that I never shared any of Elliot's 1 year pictures. And since he is 15 months I figured it was time! We had the pictures taken while we were in Minnesota on his birthday at a barn in Eden Prairie. Our wedding photographer took the photos and did a wonderful job! I intentionally waited to cut his hair until after his pictures so I would always remember his baby mullet :)
Elliot is never serious in pictures and for some reason I just love this one

My Favorites

Of course he is eating, this little one is always snacking!
I can't believe how much Elliot has changed in the 3 months since these were taken!

Singelloop 10k

Last Sunday I ran the Singelloop 10k in Utrecht. It was a nicely organized race and the route through the city was great. It started in the park right by our house(so awesome!) and it ended on a pretty street in the city called Malibaan. The street is lined with trees on both sides and was such a great way to end the race. An even better way to end it was with a personal best time for me! I was not expecting that since the race was the day after we got back from Istanbul.  The route went right past our house so Brent and Elliot were outside cheering for me and then cheering again at the finish line. It was so great to be able to spot the two of them as I was coming up on the finish! You can't really tell in the pics but there was awesome crowd support along the entire race. They had multiple races going throughout the day and the 10k was the last one so I wasn't sure if there would still be people out cheering. Thankfully, people were still out. It always helps to make races a little easier when lots of people are clapping for you.

Headed over to the start
